Threesixty Wedge Air Jam

With a building three foot swell and incredible August weather, the first official BBC event went down in style at Tolcarne wedge. Although the banks have been very poor for most of the summer the Wedge broke for nearly two hours, setting the stage for some top drawer bodyboarding.

The best moves of the event were Alex Winkworth's air reverse out of the bowl and Remi Geffroy's front flip just after the hooter.

The event ran up to the semi finals when unfortunately it got too dark to run the finals. It was agreed that the top scoring wave from each of the semi finalists should be tallied to choose the winner. Bjorn Storey's smooth back flip pipped Joe Franklin's invert with a 9.5 to a 9. For seemingly the umpteenth time at Wedge Bjorn Mr. Burn's' Storey sneaked victory from under the locals noses.

For a full report and loads of sick shots check out issue 72 of ThreeSixty, out in early November.
